A Most Interesting Gathering of Leaders

During the first week of April, a group of bishops, priests, and lay persons were invited to take part in a national Gathering of Leaders conference.

During the first week of April, a group of bishops, priests, and lay persons were invited to take part in a national Gathering of Leaders conference.  The conference, led by The Rt. Rev. Claude Payne, retired Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, Ms. Mary MacGregor, Director of Development for the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, and Mr. Belton Zeigler, from the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina, was designed to engage, encourage, and invigorate participants as leaders of their congregations.  Priests from Texas, Delaware, Virginia, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Louisiana, California, Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi gathered to listen, worship, create, share their hopes for the futureGol_ms_group_thumb of the Church, and be transformed and renewed by God’s blessings and time spent together in community.  Those attending from the Diocese of Mississippi were, Bruce Cheney, Laura Gettys, Bishop Gray, Alston Johnson, David Knight, Melanie Lemburg, Shannon Manning, Brian Ponder, Ollie Rencher, Matt Rowe, Kyle Seage, and Elizabeth Wheatley-Jones.
